The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) groups college athletic programs into divisions I, II and III. Schools determine which division they want to belong to and must meet membership criteria for that choice. “Division II institutions have to sponsor at least five sports for men and five for women, (or four for men and six for women), with at least two team sports for each gender, and each playing season represented by each gender,” notes the NCAA website. Several school in California are among the Division II colleges.\tCalifornia State Polytechnic University, Ponoma
